Kids these days… Sheesh, ya can’t take them anywhere!

Okay, so I must have watched this ten times already in the last twenty-four hours and I love it! It’s so simple and so clever, I think it’s hilarious.

The “red wine” bit at 1:05 cracks me up every time.  Instant classic.

Sometimes the simplest ideas are the best and Irina Werning’s Back to the Future project is a great example of that.

Recreating old photos of people’s past, she has done an amazing job of capturing the mood and feel of the originals. I’m sure there must be other projects like this one around, but the results are amazing.

Acquiring all the clothing and accessories and finding just the right location must have been tough enough, but getting the lighting and Photoshopping it up to give it that look must have been a tough task indeed!

I find the process of looking to see what’s changed, acknowledging the similarities and differences very seductive.

This is what you get when you lock a dude in a baseball cap in a Vegas hotel room with a Phantom Flex high speed digital cinema camera. Shooting at a whopping 2,564 frames per second, the results are AMAZING. I kind of feel like my eyes weren’t meant to see things at this super slow mo speed. Not so into the spittle, but the water droplets at 01:12 are particularly mind blowing!!

Total freaking amazing awesomeness!! I just watched this super original, wonderfully psychotic animation and it melted my freakin’ brain! It’s totally bonkers, sensitive but violent. Love the character’s and non-linear narrative. Clever and confusing, I particularly enjoyed the pace of it and use of audio.

This great short comic about building corporate websites might actually be funny if it weren’t so true!

Only thing it’s missing is “Listen, I’m looking at it in ie6 and it s not working?”

Here is a trailer of sorts for Scenes from the Suburbs, a new short film by Spike Jonze based on the album “The Suburbs by Arcade Fire.

“I wish I could remember every little moment. But I can’t. Why do I only remember the moments that I do. I wonder what happens to the others.” A group of suburban youths. Back then, in the summer, so long ago. They couldn’t leave town because outside the country was at war and the military controlled life and all gateways. The teenagers wander aimlessly about town. Winter is a long way off. And love and longing and friendship still mean – everything.

I’m a big fan of Jonze’s style of film making, the sort of fluid nature of his direction always feels very natural. This film premieres at the Berlin Film Festival, but I hope it makes it down under at some point. Look forward to seeing this one.

123KLAN are still killing it with awesome custom brands. This is a great wee reel of some of their best.

After watching this I couldn’t resist going and buying myself a tasty new mouse mat while some of their wall vinyls look pretty sweet too.

Mogwai are without a doubt one of my favourite bands out. Really looking forward to their new album ‘Hardcore Will Never Die, But You Will‘ dropping shortly this year. The packaging sure looks impressive.
Watching this vid, it’s hard not to be reminded of fun flat parties in Glasgow. It’s a super fun clip harking back to 80′s VHS Sci-Fi that all guys my age will remember fondly I reckon…
