The Project

If Virgin Mobile customers used their Virgin Family Benefits, they were much more likely to stay with the telco. Virgin Mobile needed to combat churn and increase customer awareness of all their great benefits, that included discounts on Virgin Airline flights, mobile data rollover, and Velocity points.

The Jazzy Generator gave Virgin Mobile customers a simple to use GIF generator that let customers use their own creativity to create shareable GIFs that brought the Virgin Family Benefits to life. And instead of telling customers about all the great benefits of being a part of the Virgin Mobile family – we got them to tell each other.

The Outcome

Designed to be used on any device, dropdown options dynamically changed images and colours into thousands of GIF variations. Every customer was able to enter the competition through the creation of their own unique GIF that could be download and shared.

As an educational platform disguised as an interactive competition, the campaign was successful in reminding customers that Virgin Mobile is always great value and fun. Using owned channels and minimal budget, the Jazzy Generator was a huge hit, with over 40,000 entries made (that’s 270% above target!) while over 3.5k customers shared or downloaded their unique branded GIF.
